MICHELLE OBAMA HUGS U.S. MEN’S OLYMPIC BASKETBALL TEAM AFTER THEIR FIRST WIN
After the U.S. Men’s basketball team scored their first victory in the 2012 London
Olympics over France (98-71) … First Lady Michelle Obama did one of the mother-
liest things a First Lady could do.
She gave every single player on the team a hug!
Mrs. Obama watched the game near the front row, and at the final buzzer, the entire
team — Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Russell Westbrook,
Chris Paul, Kevin Durant, James Harden, Tyson Chandler, Anthony Davis,
Andre Iguodala, Kevin Love and Deron Williams — walked over for hugs, one-by-
one.
Afterward, Carmelo Anthony told reporters, “It was a very special moment … For her to
be sitting over there and supporting us, we just wanted to thank her for coming. And
she thanked us for going out there and doing what we’re doing for America.”
